HavenCon 3 Announces New Celebrity Guests

haven-con-adHavenCon : “That’s So Retro!” is set to kick off next year in Austin, Texas April 28th – 30th. Year 3 will bring HavenCon to a new venue, the DoubleTree by Hilton in North Austin.

HavenCon has announced that it will be bringing in new celebrity guests for their 3rd year, including celebrity guests Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar) of Star Trek: The Next Generation fame and Claudia Christian who is well known for her role as Susan Ivanova in Babylon 5.

Organizer Shane Brown writes: “Denise and Claudia are great additions to the event. We introduced a new theme to the show, “That’s So Retro!” and we will have fun programming based on the fandoms throughout the 70s, 80s, 90s and today and they really lend themselves well to this theme as well as being advocates for LGBT rights and playing strong female characters.”

HavenCon is also bringing in new Guests of Honor and a new VIP Dinner Show performance by Comedian Cody Melcher who was a finalist in the Advocate’s National Queer Comedy Search.

“All of our Guests have a great connection to the fandoms. Terry Blas is known for his work on Briar Hollow and various comic book covers including Bravest Warriors, Regular Show, Adventure Time and Rick and Morty and has talked (and drawn) a lot about his experiences as a gay latinx.”

Other guests include Brichibi Cosplays, Dezzy Diamond Cosplays, Writers Francois Le Foutre and Barbara Ann Wright.

It was also announced that The Rough Trade Gaming Community, the largest LGBT+ online gaming community will be holding their 6th annual “National Meat Up” at HavenCon 3.

About HavenCon

HavenCon is the first all-inclusive geek and gaming convention in Texas to focus on the LGBT+ and Ally communities.

It is an event people from all over can attend to enjoy their favorite fandom without the fear of judgment or harassment for simply being themselves.

Various artists, vendors, creators, and developers can come to show their support for the community or to raise awareness for an LGBT-focused project of their own.

HavenCon also provides a forum for discussions people feel passionately talking about in a safe and friendly manner such as: how to be a better ally to the LGBT+ community, diversity in game development, writing in and for the LGBT+ community, and many others.

HavenCon does not drive an agenda. Rather, it focuses on bringing people of various communities and fandoms together to be themselves and have fun
